Leading Edge Aviation is fortunate to have Joe Esmerado managing the technical side of our business. Joe brings thirty-five years of valuable and varied experience to the technical equation. Not only is Joe technically competent, but he also possesses excellent management and people skills. Indeed, this is an asset, not only for Leading Edge, but for the client as well.

Because of his sense of humor and skillful way with people, Joe E., as friends and associates call him, enjoys excellent relationships with inspection facilities, equipment manufacturers, as well as aircraft program and technical service providers. He is known in the industry for his fair but firm management of technical processes.

Leading Edge trusts Joe E. to carefully oversee client pre-purchase inspections, manage aircraft maintenance and completion monitoring, perform on site aircraft evaluations while always keeping the client’s interests in the forefront of all he does.

Joe E. began his aviation career as an aircraft maintenance trainee in the U.S. Navy. He served on the aircraft carrier Intrepid during the Vietnam era. Joe’s technical skills and business acumen were acquired in various positions throughout the years—as vice president and general manager of Butler Aviation; as the owner and president of his own aircraft services company, JetAm; as the vice president of aircraft maintenance for Jet Aviation; and as the general manager at Raytheon FBO in Atlantic City with over forty people reporting to him.

Joe is a graduate of Rutgers University with a bachelor of science in management, and he also holds a certified airframe and power plant mechanic’s license.
